Liposuction prices vary according to type of procedure and doctor. But there are other factors that can turn the prices around and make big difference in the overall expenses. Once you know what those are it will be easier for you to decide whether or not you will be able to afford a lipo-sculpture procedure. This is very important to consider since the procedure is cosmetic and is not covered by insurance.

The first factor to consider is the areas of the body that the patient needs treated. As a general rule multiple treatments mean the patient will pay less per treatment. Typically four treatments or more get you even more discount in prices. The other important factor to consider is the amount of body fat to be extracted from the body. The more amount of fat will increase the cost of the surgery. This is because the more the fat is to take out, the more sculpting and contouring needs to be done by the surgeon. This is what adds to the expense.

Liposuction prices also depend on Anesthesiologist fees. If you happen to be a case that needs general anesthesia than these fees is also added to the package. The doctor will be able to tell you whether or not you are a case that needs general or local anesthesia. The Operating Room of the hospital is an important aspect of the process. This will also add to the price of the overall operation.

Liposuction prices will also alter with the weight of the patient. Because again this will tell the doctor how much contouring he or she needs to do. Geographic location of the doctor will also add to the cost. There are doctors doing the procedure in all kinds of prices. It depends on which one you choose to operate on you. Additionally if you decide to go out of the United States to get the operation done there are many places where they will charge you less for the entire procedure.

Of course choosing a doctor is an important aspect of the whole process. The doctor you choose should be skilled and experience since ideally you don’t want any complications. You should also check to see the reputation of the doctor. Of course a more credible and skilled doctor will charge more fees than usual.

As far as going abroad is concerned, it may not really be a great idea. This is because sometimes the overall expense of the trip will make the amount of money spent on the liposuction about equal to the one you get done in the country from a more expensive surgeon.

Individuals build up unwanted fat that is not easy to eliminate through mere exercise and dieting. Therefore, the medical fraternity formulated tumescent liposuction in the 1980s to extract excess fat. It is believed this liposuction program is effective and reliable. It is gaining popularity since it has fewer side effects as compared to traditional liposuction programs. Surgeons insert cannulas in areas where there is too much fat. Little holes form on affected skin region through which a cannula is introduced into the skin.

Surgeons then administer general anesthesia, epinephrine and lidocaine. The fluid pushes areas where excess fat accumulates, so the body discards the fat without much bleeding. Post surgery, the treated area is kept numb for at least 36 hours without lidocaine or any painkiller.
Pros and Cons:
The advantages of tumescent liposuction are as below:
1. It makes use of a diluted solvent such as general anesthesia to fill fatty regions before removal of excess fat. This makes the tissue puffy and strong.
2. It takes minimum time to heal.
3. The process involves minimal blood loss and fluid loss.
4. Anesthesia prevents sickness and other side effects.
5. Lidocaine, a medication that is antibacterial, reduces the chances of illness.
6. Substitution of endovenous fluid is not necessary.
7. Since the incisions are small, they show fewer bruises.
8. There is no need to stay at the hospital.
9. The patient may easily shift sides, being conscious at the time of surgery. This helps in achieving the best sculpting possible.
10. There is less bleeding, uneasiness and scars.
11. General anesthesia reduces inflammation of the skin.
The disadvantages of this process are as follows:

The surgery may result in problems such as infections, dimpling, bruises, numbness, and skin unevenness and irregularities. Patients may even suffer from lidocaine toxicity and fluid compilation. It is advisable for patients to consult a cosmetic surgeon before opting for this liposuction program. Only, a professional and experienced surgeon has the authority to perform this surgery and can give the individual the desired results. Professional surgeons have a variety of non-surgical, cosmetic, rehabilitative and surgical methods for repairing skin transformation.
