Are you considering liposuction? If so, you’re not alone. As demand for the procedure increases, many people find themselves with questions about the differences in cost. Here 7 are things to consider when comparing liposuction prices.

1.The lowest price isn’t always the best deal…

Be wary if you come across a surgeon with an exceptionally low price. You could find yourself stuck with a lot of hidden fees, or worse. Sometimes, the lowest price may end up being the most expensive in the long run. Liposuction could be much more expensive than you bargained for if you need another surgeon to repair the damage done in a “discount” procedure.

2.Telephone estimates vs. written estimates

Be very careful when asking for estimates over the telephone. A good surgeon will usually want to examine you to provide an accurate estimate. Always ask about any additional fees you may encounter, such as costs for post-operative compression garments or lab work. Get your estimate in writing, and beware of surgeons who are not willing to provide a written estimate.

3.Your gender can affect the price

Liposuction prices tend to be slightly higher for men than for women. This is because fat in males is tougher and more dense, which makes it slightly harder to remove.

4.There may be discounts for additional areas

Some patients choose to have more than one area of the body worked on during the same procedure. This can save a considerable amount of money because surgeons generally offer deep discounts for additional areas to be treated. There are limits to the number of areas you can have surgery on at any one time, so be sure to discuss the risks and benefits with your surgeon.

5.Liposuction prices can vary by geographic area

You may save a lot of money if you are willing to travel to have the procedure done. The cost of living, and the cost of liposuction, is far higher in densely populated areas like Los Angeles or New York. Also, surgeons in less populated areas may offer more discounts to attract new patients.

6.Liposuction financing

There are multiple ways to pay for liposuction. Think about your payment method carefully. If you choose to pay with a credit card, interest charges can add a significant amount to the total cost. Always make sure the payments are within your budget, and always think carefully before taking on additional debt.
